I’m here today to fill CordaRoy’s fans in about how it’s coming at our new corporate offices/showroom facility. You’ve probably seen a post or two about this project on our Facebook page. Here’s a little more detail on it – I’m excited about getting moved in, and these are just some of the reasons why:
We’ve leased 8,000 square feet of space just down the road a bit from our significantly smaller existing facility. The new CordaRoy’s store will be home to ten offices, to be occupied by the CordaRoy’s staff and myself. We’ll have a back area in our new space where we’ll produce custom orders of CordaRoy’s chairs, and this will also serve as space for special events – more on that in a minute.
But what I really can’t wait for customers and friends to see will be our 2,500 square-foot showroom. It’s going to be a “concept” showroom, designed by
Magnum X Design + Build, a firm based here in Gainesville. The showroom will give customers a full CordaRoy’s experience before they purchase, which of course they’ll have the opportunity to do right on the spot.
I recently purchased a pretty cool item for the facility, which I found offered for sale by a local VFW hall. It’s a 27-foot shuffleboard table, with a beautiful laminated maple playing surface. What, you didn’t know shuffleboard was played on anything but the floor or ground? Come and check this thing out when we’re open!
Among the events we’ll do at the new facility will be fundraisers, as well as what we call lounge sessions. These are get-togethers for local artists and musicians to showcase what they do for our customers and friends. We’ll post pics and videos of these on our website and social media outlets.
As you can see, the new CordaRoy’s headquarters is “Under Construction” – these pics show the concrete floor-polishing operation in progress, as well as one worker applying taping compound to an office wall.
In August we’ll be moved in and open for business. I’m planning a huge Grand Opening party, so keep an eye on the blog and Facebook to find out about some very special guests I’m inviting. For now, let’s just say it might not be safe to swim too far out from shore – cue shark music here…
